It has been alleged that DB picked up a student of Dhaka
University from a rented house in Azimpur of the capital. The student was
reportedly picked up around 12pm on Saturday (March 26).
The student's name is Ashikur Rahman. He is a fourth-year
student in the university's international relations department. In addition to
being involved with various socio-cultural organizations on campus, Ashikur
also did photography.
The house from which Ashikur was taken away is a family
house. Mohsin, a second-year student of the university, lives with his family in
that house. He was at home at the time of the incident.
Describing the incident, Mohsin said, "Four people came
to our house between 11:00 pm and 11:30 pm on Saturday. They took Ashik. When
asked, one said he would be taken to the DB office on Mintu Road. Then they took
him around 12:30.'
He added that the four were accompanied by police and some
Ansar members. After the incident, some teachers of the International Relations
Department of Ashik's department went to the DB office at night. From there, it
is said, no one with this name was brought. So far we have not received any
updates about Ashik. '
In this regard, Professor of International Relations. Abdul
Mannan said, ‘We went there last night. They said no one with such a name was
brought. And if they hold on, they will let the chairman know. '
Lalbagh Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) MM Morshed said,
"We have heard the matter from you. We have no information on this. "
Asked if anyone was looking, he said, "Look, we're
trying."
Regarding the allegation, DB's Ramna Zone DC Azimul Haque
said, "No such person has been brought in."
